About the Position:

Space Micro is looking for an optical communications engineer to support multiple laser communications efforts. This technical expert will support both modem and free space optics technology development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Hardware designer.
  • Create functional and design specifications.
  • Work with manufacture on part selection and sourcing.
  • Work with signal integrity, mechanical, power during board design and testing.
  • Schematic capture.
  • Write detailed test plans and related procedures.
  • Board design on new product, board debug, test and integration.

Position Requirements:

  • 5~10 years’ experience in high-speed board design Solid understanding of digital logic, signal integrity, power circuitry, and high-speed PCB design techniques.
  • Experience with FPGAs/PLDs, Ethernet PHYs, High-speed Memories, PLLs, voltage regulators, Switching etc.
  • Knowledge of computer and system architecture.
  • Experience with board simulations working knowledge in processors.
  • Experience in a project from bring up through production ramp.
  • Experience in creating/reviewing validation/diagnostic test plans.
  • Experience with developing tests and debugging in the lab.
  • Excellent communication skills.
